Shelley Amato founder of Adorn Design Group embodies the "can do" attitude necessary to make things happen. Shelley wanted to provide people in her community who didn't think they could afford to hire an interior designer with fast, simple, affordable decorating makeovers. Shelley has been designing with the concept of "using what you own," to offer affordable design solutions to her clients.
Shelley began her career in San Francisco, where she offered her services pro-bono to an elementary school under construction. Other notable projects included design makeovers offered through local charity auctions while raising money for school projects.
Prior to Adorn, Shelley worked for 10 years as a small business consultant implementing payroll, summary plan descriptions and 401k plans for small start up companies. During her tenure, she exceeded the company sales goals five years in a row allowing her to attend the company's sales conference for outstanding performers.
Shelley earned her degree at Western Illinois University majoring in Mass Communications and Business Relations. Shelley was a member of the American Marketing Association as well as the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
With Shelley's prior business experience and passion for design, she launched Adorn in 2003. Currently Shelley's credentials include QRS, Qualified Redesign Specialist. Trained through the Midwest Staging Redesign Institute, an I.R.I.S approved and Illinois State Board of Education training institution.
